Everest
Somewhere above the clouds but below the mountains I learned that even in the world’s most beautiful places, the value of our experiences are found in who we share these places with. It’s the people that make these adventures everything that they are— it’s always going to be the people.
We didn't make it all the way to basecamp-- e-coli, pneumonia, and a helicopter evacuation made sure of that. And turning back from Everest felt like saying goodbye to a dream. But maybe the important thing about dreams is not making them come true-- but more for what they teach you while you're trying. And I learned more more about pride and humility and the importance of valuing people than I could have ever imagined.
Anyone can make it up Everest. You just have to have enough time, pride and money. And we had all of those things when we started out. But somewhere along the way, we decided that relationships were more important.
It's about the people-- it's always going to be about the people.
